HKAPA Presents Academy Chinese Opera: Gongs and Drums – Highlights from The Journey to the West
The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) Chinese Opera production: Gongs and Drums – Highlights from The Journey to the West will be staged at the Rita Tong Liu Drama Theatre of HKAPA on 29 and 30 May 2026, re‑creating episodes from one of China’s greatest literary classics, The Journey to the West. Three excerpts will be presented, including Monkey King and the Skeleton Demon, Zhu Bajie Bearing His Wife, and The Monkey King Borrows the Magic Fan.

HKAPA Presents Academy Chinese Opera: Gongs and Drums
The Academy Chinese Opera production: Gongs and Drums will be staged at the Rita Tong Liu Drama Theatre of the Academy on 19 and 20 December 2025. Three excerpts will be presented, including "Execution of Chen Shimei" from Qin Xianglian, Bestows the Gift of a Sword at Baihua Pavilion, and Hu Family Mansion.
