Principal’s Recommendation Scheme

Principal’s Recommendation Scheme

Principal’s Recommendation Scheme is launched by the Academy to encourage secondary school students who have distinguished achievement in performing arts to apply for the our programmes.  Principals of local, ESF and private international schools in Hong Kong can recommend talented students of their schools via the Scheme to pursue study in the Academy.

HKAPA Info Day

HKAPA Info Day

The Academy organises Info Day annually to introduce our campus, the programmes offered by our six Schools and admission information to students, parents and teachers.  There are also performance and exhibitions to enhance their understanding and knowledge of performing arts.  Participants can come to our Wanchai Campus or join the event online.  They can speak with our School representatives so that they will know more about the latest trends and future prospects of the performing arts industry.

Secondary School Principal’s Luncheon

Secondary School Principal’s Luncheon

The Academy hosted its first Principal’s Luncheon in February 2019, bringing together principals from local secondary schools to exchange views on education and admission, as well as further collaboration with the Academy.  This event offers a good opportunity to forge close bond with local secondary schools.

Life Planning Forum

Life Planning Forum

Life Planning Forum is an annual event that brings together principals, teachers and career masters from secondary schools, and study consultants from youth organisations to participate in discussions regarding performing arts education. 

 

The Forum was first held on 20 April 2021 online focusing on "Innovation in Performing Arts Education".  Professor Gillian Choa, Director of the Academy, highlighted in her message that the first ever “HKAPA Recruitment & Outstanding Scholarship” that covers full tuition of full-time local undergraduates with excellence in performance and exceptional academic results has been launched. Also, the Deans and Associate Dean from six Schools shared their passion for their professional fields and insights into the latest trends in performing arts education.

 

The upcoming Forum will be held in Jul 2022 online and speakers from our six Schools will share their insights on the social impact of performing arts.  Please refer to our announcement for updates.

Experts Talks and School Talks

For students who are interested in developing a career in performing arts, the Student Recruitment and Community Engagement Office of the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts (HKAPA) has specially arranged a series of online expert talks and school talks to give them a better understanding of the latest trends in the industry and in the undergraduate degree programmes offered by HKAPA. These talks are delivered by veteran performing arts professionals and instructors with many years of teaching experience from Schools of the Academy which cover 6 subject areas of performing arts: Chinese Opera, Dance, Drama, Film and Television, Music, and Theatre and Entertainment Arts.  All talks are free of charge.
