The Academy successfully hosted The Homecoming: Aristo Sham | "Where the Future Meets the Future" on 28 March 2026, at the William Au Concert Hall, featuring an open masterclass, a performance and a dialogue.
Aristo Sham, a distinguished alumnus of the Junior Music Programme (JMP) and the 2025 Van Cliburn Gold Medalist and Audience Award winner, engaged with current JMP students during the masterclass, sharing insights drawn from his extensive international performance experience. Fellow JMP alumni Angela Chan (Violin, 2024 Joseph Joachim Violin Competition First Prize Winner), Chris Choi (Viola, 2013 Alice and Eleonore Schoenfeld International String Competition (Chamber Music Division) First Prize Winner), and Thomas Hung (Cello, Commendation from the Hong Kong Home Affairs Bureau in 2012) joined Aristo to present a performance of Brahms's Piano Quartet No. 1 in G minor, Op. 25. A dialogue with Academy Director Prof Anna CY Chan followed, during which they shared their experiences of studying at the Academy and the paths to their success.
