The School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts offers a dynamic range of production-related courses in performing and entertainment arts. From theatre to theme parks and live events, the School’s professionally focused programmes are designed to prepare students for exciting careers in entertainment and the cultural industries. In addition to its MFA, BFA, Diploma and Certificate Programmes in Set and Costume Design, Costume Technology, Property Making, Scenic Art, Lighting Design and Technology, Sound Design and Technology, Music Production, Stage & Event Management and Technical Direction; recognising today’s and tomorrow’s needs for top production crew by local and regional entertainment companies, the School also offers fast-track intensive courses.

Reporting to the Dean of the School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts, the postholder will provide a full range of administrative and executive support functions to the School. Duties will also include assisting in budget control, accounting and financial planning; overseeing administration of academic programmes; school productions and performance tours; managing and implementing collaboration projects and activities with external organisations; preparing agreements, proposals and reports; coordinating with internal and external parties; and performing any other duties assigned by the Dean of the School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts. Working beyond normal office hours or during weekends may be required occasionally.  

Applicants should have: 
(a) A recognised university degree, or equivalent;
(b) Normally at least 5 years of relevant administrative experience, preferably in tertiary educational sectors and/or arts and cultural organisations;
(c) Knowledge of performing arts is preferable;
(d) Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, preferably proficiency in Putonghua;
(e) Strong organisational management, communication, interpersonal skills and flexibility; 
(f) Positive attitude with ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and
(g) Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Forms, website management, and Chinese word processing.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year renewable contract, subject to performance and mutual agreement.  A gratuity payment may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. The starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
