The School of Drama is looking for an Assistant Executive Officer to provide a full range of administrative and executive supports to the School. The postholder may be required to work beyond normal office hours or weekends occasionally. The main areas of responsibilities are as follows:
(a) Overseeing administration of academic programmes including but not limited to audition, admission, credits and other academic related tasks; 
(b) Coordinating and assisting in class, school activities and events; 
(c) Managing and implementing collaboration projects and activities with external organisations; 
(d) Preparing agreements, proposals and reports; 
(e) Liaising with the Academy’s internal units, external parties and different stakeholders;.  
(f) Undertaking any other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Dean and the Executive Officer.

 

Applicants should have: 
(a) A recognised university degree, or equivalent;
(b) Normally at least 5 years of relevant administrative experience, preferably in tertiary educational sectors, public sectors and/or arts and cultural organisations; 
(c) Knowledge of performing arts is preferable but not necessary;
(d) Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, preferably proficiency in Putonghua;
(e) Strong organisational management, communication and interpersonal skills, attention to details and flexibility;  
(f) Positive attitude with ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team; and
(g) Good computer literacy, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, PDF, Canva, Zoom, website management, and Chinese word processing.

 

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year renewable contract, subject to performance and mutual agreement.  A gratuity payment equals up to 10% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period, may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, that equals 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. The starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
