This ambitious production reimagines Henri Diamant-Berger’s 1921 silent film Les Trois Mousquetaires through a bold fusion of Chinese martial arts, Western classical music, and live performance. Schools of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts—Music, Drama, Film & Television—collaborate to bring this legendary tale to the stage.
French composer and conductor Béatrice Thiriet leads the artistic direction, composing original music, conducting live performances, and guiding HKAPA students in composition and performance. Alongside, filmmaker Jérôme Diamant-Berger, grandson of Henri Diamant-Berger, enriches the festival with workshops and talks on cinema history, production, and preservation, offering unique insight into the legacy of early film and its enduring influence.
This union of stage and screen creates a vibrant celebration of art across cultures and generations.
