Digital Learning Department enhances the technical and educational support for teaching and learning at the Academy. It promotes interdisciplinary collaboration in education by leveraging AI, advanced tools, multimedia, and innovative pedagogy to enable technology-driven, outcome-based teaching and learning.

The Educational Designer will provide pedagogical support and advice for Digital Learning’s various e-learning and teaching initiatives.  Duties include overseeing and contributing to the pedagogical developments of the department’s work such as supporting academic staff in the effective use of the Learning Management System (CANVAS), Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) tools, blended learning, immersive learning, provision of professional development activities and funded projects.

 

Applicants should have:
(a) A recognised degree in a relevant subject area/discipline;
(b) Normally at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in managing educational projects, teaching and learning, and the production of e-learning materials at the tertiary level;
(c) Solid experience in facilitating professional development for academic staff and organising activities for students across a range of learning and teaching areas such as: 21st Century approaches to pedagogy including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), outcome-based education and an understanding of practice, theory and research in these areas would be an advantage;
(d) Experience in providing pedagogical support to academic staff in the innovative use of Learning Management Systems; best practices in the use of multimedia resources and technologies to support and enhance student learning, AI tools for learning, course development as well as project management and quality assurance processes;
(e) Familiar with developing learning solutions, including the development of user guides, online resources, multimedia content, video, and in-person teaching with staff, both individually and in groups;
(f) An extensive understanding of current trends in technology enhanced learning (with experience in the performing arts and/or a knowledge of performing arts education being an advantage);
(g) Familiarity with emerging educational technologies and their potential applicability for the Academy;
(h) Strong self-learning ability and creativity;
(i) Strong organisational, teamwork and communication skills; and
(j) Strong presentation and written skills in English, and proficiency in Cantonese and Putonghua would be an advantage.
    
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT 
Appointment will be on a two-year renewable contract, subject to performance and mutual agreement.  A gratuity payment may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. The starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The expected commencement date will be 24 August 2026.
