General Questions
The Academy welcomes those who are interested in Chinese Opera, Dance, Drama, Film and Television, Music or Theatre and Entertainment Arts as well as individuals who are talented or have received relevant training.
The admission requirements for different programmes vary. Please refer to the Admission Requirements for entry requirements of different programmes.
Admissions is determined based on academic qualifications, relevant training and artistic achievement in the chosen arts discipline as well as applicants’ performance in auditions, interviews and/or tests, if any. Owing to the large number of applicants, the Academy will not provide written assessments or engage in any correspondence with unsuccessful applicants.
The normal study duration of undergraduate programmes is 4 years.
The new academic year normally commences in early September. Please refer to the Major Term Dates for details.

However, Mainland and International students on full scholarship will normally be offered student accommodation on a shared basis. Please refer to Accommodation Tips for more details.
Assistance will be provided by the Student Affairs Office in student accommodation matters as and when requested by students.
Opportunities for internships with local dance companies, theatre groups, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and other professional organisations are available for Academy students. These internships provide training in a professional environment, allowing students to work with experienced artists.
